Giving poor children a shot at life is one way that non-profit organisations like Genesis Foundation India have been fighting to effect change at the grass roots level. Their mission is to keep their little hearts beating for the rest of their lives because approximately 200,000 children are born with congenital defects relating to the heart. The Foundation assists families who cannot afford to treat their children who were born with heart defects. Through numerous domestic and foreign activities, it gets donations. In addition to hosting a music festival that encourages people to donate and get involved with the cause, they use music as a means for connecting.
