Researchers from the Official Naval Research found that non-gamers do worse than gamers at remembering visual objects and take longer to assimilate new knowledge. As a result, researchers believe that the game-like simulations made feasible by AR and VR can significantly enhance cognitive abilities and correlate virtual training with actual tasks. AR and VR are advantageous to managers who oversee operations and dispatch soldiers into the field.
