As a Senior Lecturer in Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, Dr Merten is responsible for training local and international plastic surgeons in advanced cosmetic plastic surgery. Australian and Overseas plastic surgeons participate in 6 - 12 month Fellowship programs at Macquarie University Hospital, as well as achieve higher qualifications as Masters in Advanced Surgery (Cosmetic Plastic Surgery) in the Scholars program run by the Advanced School of Medicine at Macquarie University, at which Dr Merten is an appointed Senior Lecturer.
