A typical ATC spindle motor includes the spindle shaft, motor section, tool interface (such as ISO, BT or HSK taper), internal drawbar and release mechanism, bearings, cooling system and position or speed sensing components. It connects to a CNC controller and frequency inverter (VFD or servo drive) to set spindle speed, rotation direction and tool clamping/unclamping signals.
