The number of vacancies to be filled through the examination is expected to be approximately 861 which include 34 vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category

HOW TO APPLY FOR UPSC CSE 2022:
Candidates are required to apply Online by using the website https://upsconline.nic.in Detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on the above-mentioned website.
Candidate should have details of one Photo ID Card viz. Aadhaar Card/Voter Card/PAN Card/Passport/Driving Licence/Any other Photo ID Card issued by the State/Central Government. The details of this Photo ID Card will have to be provided by the candidate while filling up the online application form. The candidates will have to upload a scanned copy of the Photo ID whose details have been provided in the online application by him/her. This Photo ID Card will be used for all future referencing and the candidate is advised to carry this Photo ID Card while appearing for the Examination/Personality Test.
DETAILS ON UPSC CSE 2022 PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION:
The Examination shall comprise of two compulsory Papers of 200 marks each.
Note:
(i) Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions) and each will be of two hours duration.
(ii) The General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
(iii) The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English.
UPSC Civil Services Eligibility Criteria 2022:

Applicants must meet all of the commission's eligibility requirements, including educational qualifications, age criteria, nationality, and multiple attempts, in order to take the IAS (UPSC CSE) Exam 2022.
The following are the eligibility requirements that applicants should review before applying for the UPSC 2022 Exam.
Age Restrictions
The minimum age for the IAS test varies depending on the category. To apply for the IAS test, you must be at least 21 years old and no older than 32 years old.
The date of birth on the High School/Higher Secondary certificate will be taken into account by UPSC (UPSC).
Qualification in Education
Candidates for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Examination must have a Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent degree in any field.
Candidates with any percentile are eligible to apply for the IAS (UPSC CSE) Exam, but they must meet all other eligibility requirements.
Nationality
Indian citizens are required to apply for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS). All other services require applicants to be either Indian citizens or foreign nationals.
1. A Nepalese or A Bhutanese citizen
2. A Tibetan refugee arrived in India prior to January 1, 1962, with the intention of establishing a permanent residence.
3. A person of Indian ancestry who has permanently relocated to India from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam.
Number of Attempts
For general category candidates, the maximum number of tries allowed in the UPSC Exam is six. Candidates in the OBC category will have nine chances. SC/ST candidates are not restricted to a set number of attempts. Candidates should be aware that they are no longer eligible to take the UPSC IAS Exam if they have taken the UPSC CSE Prelims as many times as the number of attempts allowed.
