The Range, who took over some of Wilko’s stores earlier this year following the company’s dramatic closure, proved many people wrong when they opened their first few former Wilko stores - in the Plymouth Armada Shopping Centre, the Guildhall SC in Exeter and Luton’s Arndale Centre. Poundland, who took over 71 stores from Wilko, has reopened 56 of the sites, employing 700 former Wilko staff. And there’s movement from B&M, who report they are converting their 51 Wilko stores to their branding over the next 12 months.
