The economy of India is growing at a rapid pace and is witnessing technological advancements in almost every sector. Many leading MNCs and manufacturing companies are setting up their offices across the country to tap on the potential of the Indian workforce, which further uplift the urbanisation of cities such as Noida, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai etc. This rapid urbanisation requires seamless connectivity, and the Government of India (GoI) has taken various initiatives to construct state-of-the-art expressways, and highways that connect major parts of the country, and allows seamless growth of the country.
The highest class of roads, i.e., Expressways of India, constitutes a total length of 5,930 km with 11,127.69 km under construction (as of July 2023). The Delhi - Mumbai Expressway, which is expected to be completed by the last quarter of 2025, will be the longest expressway in India.
