Oiled Floor Cleaning

Oiled wood floors offer a natural, warm aesthetic, but they require specific care to maintain their beauty. Unlike sealed floors, oiled floors are porous and need regular nourishment to prevent drying and cracking.

Cleaning:

Regular Dusting: Frequent sweeping or vacuuming with a soft brush attachment removes dirt and grit that can scratch the surface.

Damp Mopping: Use a well-wrung mop and a cleaner specifically designed for oiled wood floors. Avoid excessive water, as it can damage the wood.

Tackling Spills: Wipe up spills immediately to prevent staining.

Polishing:

Periodic Refreshment: Depending on traffic, re-oiling is recommended every few months to replenish the protective layer and enhance the wood's natural luster.
Choosing the Right Oil: Use a high-quality oil compatible with your floor's finish.
Application Technique: Apply the oil thinly and evenly using a microfiber mop or cloth, following the manufacturer's instructions.

Key Considerations:

Avoid harsh chemicals: Bleach, ammonia-based cleaners, and abrasive scrubbers can strip the oil and damage the wood.

Protective mats: Place mats in high-traffic areas and entryways to minimize wear and tear.

Furniture pads: Use felt pads under furniture legs to prevent scratches
