Emperor Specialty Foods Ltd has been leading the charge in importing and distributing premium gourmet foods since 1986. The company’s journey began with a focus on fresh shiitake mushrooms but expanded in 1995 to include mushrooms from China and local sources. By 1998, they were the first Canadian company to import fresh mushrooms from China by ocean shipment. In 2001, they opened an office in China, further strengthening supplier relationships and diversifying their offerings, which now include imported fruits and vegetables.
